Come Home Again: installation by Es Devlin at Tate Modern Garden (21 September – 1 October)

We are really looking forward to the launch of the beautiful, illuminated installation, entitled Come Home Again, by Es Devlin at the Tate Modern Garden later this month. Highlighting the plight of London’s species which are under threat, the piece invites its audience to reflect on the wonderful biodiversity of the city and how we should protect it.

Commissioned by Cartier, Cyrille Vigneron (President of Cartier Philanthropy Council, President and CEO of Cartier) explains: “Art and creativity are important in order to talk about today’s world, in a human and touching way. Come Home Again represents how we can be inspired by the beauty of the world wherever it may be. Cartier’s responsibility is to make the world more beautiful, not only through our creations but also through our commitments for nature and our philanthropic actions. With our commitment to beauty, art and nature in mind, we are happy to support the vital work by the London Wildlife Trust to help preserve biodiversity.”

Each evening at sunset, a London-based choir will sing an interpretation of Choral Evensong next to the installation, which will be interweaved with the sounds of birds, bats, and insects that reside in London.

Not only is this such a beautiful multi-sensory concept, it is a wonderful way of raising awareness of the important issue of protecting our biodiversity too.
