The Royal Albert Hall has released details of an exciting programme of concerts for its 2025 Prom season which runs from 18 July to 13 September.
About
The Proms was launched in 1895 and has been presented by the BBC since 1927. It offers a season of concerts, showcasing both new and old compositions for a wide variety of audiences.
The 2025 season includes:
Contemporary Proms The Great American Songbook and Beyond with Samara Joy, The Traitors and Soul Revolution.
For younger audiences, there will be CBeebies Prom – A Magical Bedtime Story.
For film aficionados there are Classic Thriller Soundtracks and The Planets and Star Wars.
There’s also a relaxed concert of The Planets for those who may prefer to leave and enter the auditorium at any point, and there will be dedicated chill out areas for this event, too.
The rest of the programme includes concerts featuring the works of Elgar, Handel, Puccini and Strauss, to name but a few.
The BBC explain: “…this Proms season is jam-packed full of classic composers and music. Hear them performed by some of the greatest orchestras in the world in a season that guarantees the ultimate concert experience.
The BBC Proms is a great place to introduce your family to classical music, with half-price tickets available for under-18s at every concert. The following Proms offer younger listeners a brilliant first-time experience. Programmes feature film-music staples and iconic classical favourites, and there are two CBeebies concerts designed specifically for children.
This season offers a huge variety of styles and performers, from the hauntingly beautiful music of film composer Joe Hisaishi to the hypnotic power of multi-Grammy award-winning jazz singer Samara Joy. Grab your cloak and torch to join The Traitors for a whole lot of musical treachery or experience the distinct global blend of Arooj Aftab’s South Asian melting pot of musical influences. It’s all here at the Proms!”
