If you are looking for traditional toys and models to buy this festive season, we very highly recommend Benjamin Pollock’s Toyshop. Located in Covent Garden’s piazza, it’s a wonderful store full of traditional and unique items. Its range includes toy theatres, shadow boxes and puppets, some of which designed by contemporary artists.

In 1856 Benjamin Pollock opened his first shop in Hoxton, selling goods inspired by his interest in toy theatres. It was frequented by Charlie Chaplin and loved by author Robert Louis Stevenson who noted “If you love art, folly or the bright eyes of children, speed to Pollock’s.”  The shop relocated to Covent Garden’s Monmouth Street in the 1960s and finally moved to its present location in 1980.

It really is a treat to visit and you are sure to come away with some pieces to treasure.
