Floris of Jermyn Street: British family perfumers since 1730

One of our favourite shops is Floris which was established on Jermyn Street in 1730. England’s oldest retailer of fragrance and toiletries is still family owned and run today by the 8th and 9th generation of the family. A perfect stop for all things fragrant, for both men and women. The interior is especially noteworthy with cabinets from the Great Exhibition of 1851; also be sure to look out for the letter from Florence Nightingale which is on display, thanking Mr Floris for the “beautiful sweet-smelling nosegays”. It was also a favourite shop of Marilyn Monroe, Ian Fleming and Winston Churchill. Find out more about their fascinating history, and their wonderful fragrances, by visiting their website.
