It was our absolute pleasure to have Angèle complete her work experience with us earlier this summer. Read on to find out what she loved during her time in London and what she would recommend to others.
What did you enjoy doing the most at Hertford Street?
I loved talking to the guests and the staff who were very attentive and friendly. I was able to ask questions and they always answered me with kindness.
What are your interests?
I dance and sing. I spend my days listening to music. There are quite a few street artists in London so it was always nice after a day’s work or a night out to hear their music.
What are your favourite places in London?
What I loved about London was the parks nearby. After my working experience, I came back for a school trip and during free time, my friends and I we went for drinks and then to a park. The weather was fine, everyone was out and the parks were full of flowers and beautiful. We had a great time, I recommend it! Then, not far from where I was staying, there was a drunch restaurant. The food is very good and the setting beautiful. It’s open all day, so you can have breakfast there, which isn’t bad if you’re an early riser and want a quality breakfast! The great thing about London is that restaurants are open all day, so if we’re visiting and we’re not British, our mealtimes and lifestyles won’t be out of sync! What’s more, Hertford Street is very well placed in London. I was able to buy and eat healthy, inexpensive food nearby. Of course, there are restaurants that I didn’t get the chance to try, but they look very good!
I also love shopping so how could I not mention Regent Street and the surrounding area? It’s so easy to find what you’re looking for there, there’s something for everyone: casual shops like H&M, Zara, Brandy Melville, children’s shops like Hamleys where you can make your own cuddly toy and luxury shops like Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Burberry, etc…
With Hertford Street’s central London location, most things can be done on foot. Access to public transport is also very convenient and close by. Hertford Street is in a safe and quiet area, where you can feel secure.
We are extremely grateful for the week Angèle spent with us. She is an absolute joy to be around and a very hard worker. Wishing her all the very best for the future!
