Happy 1 May!

Did you know that Mayfair earned its name from the May Fair? The May Fair, held in rural Shepherd Market over the first two weeks of May, was established in 1686 to raise funds for the Hospital of St James. It was held annually until 1764 when the area was bought by the Grosvenor family who developed sophisticated residences and elegant squares on the land. It was during this time that our beloved Hertford Street was built (between 1764 and 1771), which retains its Georgian charm.

Mayfair is still very much regarded as an exclusive and prosperous area to reside in; entry level prices for Mayfair homes are £1.5 million and the most expensive can cost up to £45 million.
