This week sees the opening of Vivienne Westwood: An Active Life at the fabulous atelier, fashion house and members’ club, the Light House in Soho.
The exhibition and sale
Opening on 19 February and running until 19 March, this fascinating show celebrates Westwood’s activism and influence. Featuring photographs by Ki Price and vintage pieces from Steven Philip’s personal collection, it will be raising money for the Vivienne Westwood Foundation. Rare Westwood tshirts and prints will be available for purchase.
The Light House
Founded by Westwood’s son Joe Corré, the Light House on historic Berwick Street is an atelier, fashion house and members’ club. It offers a space for independent designers to meet and showcase their works in the heart of London.
48 Berwick Street had previously been home to W Sitch & Co, a lighting company established in 1776. Purchased by Corré in 2019, the four-storey building (complete with a forge) was the perfect spot for his creative space. Painstakingly restored over 6 years, it opened in 2025.
Getting there
Berwick Street can be reached from 9 Hertford Street by taking the Victoria line from Green Park to Oxford Circus. Alternatively, it’s a 1.6km walk through Mayfair.
