The October half term is upon us and we are excited to share some fabulous activities currently running in London. There’s a fantastic variety of events, whether your children love art, music and storytelling, adventure, running around in the great outdoors or experiencing the combination of a traditional afternoon tea, a classic London bus and touring the capital’s sights.

Discovery Days: Hair-raising Halloween at Hyde Park (28 – 30 October)

We adore the fantastic family activities that London’s Royal Parks host in Hyde Park. This half term, the Hair-raising Halloween days include nature trails, story time, feely boxes, and learning all about bats.

Children’s Alice in Wonderland Adventure Tour at the Royal Ballet & Opera (25 – 31 October)

An absolute treat, this adventure tour at the RBO is a 75-minute live and immersive experience for children aged 5 – 11. The ticket also includes a lunch box and a bespoke Eat Sleep Doodle activity set.

Halloween at Kew (until 2 November)

This autumn, Kew is holding a Halloween-inspired light trail. Make an evening of this spooky adventure walk as some warming treats will be available to purchase, including hot chocolate, toasted marshmallows and fries.

Bridgit’s Bakery themed afternoon tea bus tours (various dates)

Bridgit’s Bakery afternoon tea bus tours are the perfect way to see the sights of London whilst staying in the warm and dry of a classic London bus. Themes include Paddington Bear, Care Bears Halloween and Monopoly.

The Paddington Bear Experience (until 8 March 2026)

The Paddington Bear Experience is an exciting immersive adventure with plenty of fun games to take part in whilst meeting the bear himself!

Starlight Express (until 19 April 2026)

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Richard Stilgoe’s award-winning musical Starlight Express follows the story of young steam engine Rusty as he races against diesel and electric locomotives, inspired by the legend of the Starlight Express train.

Oliver! (until 4 October 2026)

Oliver!, one of the capital’s best-loved musicals which was first staged 65 years ago, is being performed at the historic Gielgud Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue. Based on Dickens’ Oliver Twist, it follows the story of orphaned Oliver who, after being thrown out of the workhouse for asking “Please sir, I want some more”, runs away to London in the hope of a better life.

Paradox Museum (permanent)

This immersive experience offers its visitors over fifty exhibits spread over 25 rooms. Areas include a Zero Gravity Room, a Camouflage Room and a Paradox Tunnel. Further to this, the Paradox Museum features areas inspired by the city. There is also a Reverse Room which is inspired by the London Underground, a Throne Room where one appears to increase and decrease in size, and a magical Castle Room with shifting hallways.
