Throughout January, Bankside are offering a fabulous programme of events as part of their Frost Fair. The schedule includes walking tours, river boat trips, theatre productions, art trails, augmented reality installations, creative workshops and a fantastic selection of food & drinks.
Historically, Frost Fairs occurred when the River Thames completely froze over (24 times between the 1600s and 1800s), halting all trade. The area was reinvented for entertainment and merriment until the thaws came. Bankside’s modern take pays homage to these extraordinary times whilst offering some excellent modern-day activities for visitors to enjoy.
